51 Minds Entertainment Announces Series Of Internal Promotions And New Hires

April 12, 2016 - 51 Minds Entertainment has made a series of new hires and promotions, including naming Chris Kinsella as Senior Vice President and Jessica Bofshever as Vice President of Development, it was announced today by 51 Minds Entertainment CEO Christian Sarabia. 

Additional moves include Andrew Jacobson named as Head of Branded Entertainment and Tricia Biggio joining 51 Minds from VH1 as Vice President, Current Productions.

51 Minds Entertainment, a division of Endemol Shine North America, is the production company widely credited with creating the celeb-reality genre of reality programming. Current 51 Minds series include “Broken Skull Challenge,” (CMT), “Sisterhood of Hip Hop,” (Oxygen) “T.I. and Tiny, The Family Hustle,” (VH1) “Below Deck” (Bravo), “Red Neck Island: Battle at the Lake” (CMT) and recently launched “Coming Attractions” (MTV).

“The past few years have been some of the most successful in the history of 51 Minds Entertainment, with the launch of several hit new series and the development of some of our most ambitious and promising projects to date,” said Sarabia. “We have assembled an incredibly diverse and creative team and these moves today are a reflection of the team’s hard work and the bright future we see here at 51 Minds.”

Kinsella, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Development, has been with 51 Minds for five years, most recently serving as Vice President of Development. Kinsella has played an integral role in developing many of 51 Minds’ recent hits including “Sisterhood of Hip Hop” and “Broken Skull Challenge.” Kinsella was named Vice President, Development, at 51 Minds in 2014.

Bofshever, who is being promoted to Vice President of Development, formerly served as Director, Development at 51 Minds. Bofshever has played an instrumental role in the development of such series as “She Got Game” and the recent rebrand of “Redneck Island: Battle at the Lake.” Prior to joining 51 Minds, she was a director of development at Good Clean Fun, (“Run’s House,” “Tia & Tamera”) and previously worked on such series as “The Bachelorette” and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” In addition, Hannan Abdelaa is being promoted to Director of Development.

Jacobson, who was named Head of Branded Entertainment, will be charged with leading 51 Minds into the branded space for the first time in the company’s history. Jacobson, who has served as Director of Development for 51 Minds over the last two years, formerly worked in branded development at Electus.

Biggio, who has been named Vice President of Current Productions, joins 51 Minds from VH1. Biggio had recently served as VH1’s current executive on a number of 51 Minds shows, including “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle,” “She’s Got Game” and “Suave Says.” Prior to joining VH1, Biggio was a producer for Lighthearted Entertainment, where she helped to develop “Dating Naked” and “Bye Felicia.”

Elyse Adams has also been promoted to Director, Current Productions. Adams has been with 51 Minds for nearly two years, working in the current department on a handful of series including “Sisterhood of Hip Hop” and “Redneck Island: Battle at the Lake.”
