Endemol Shine North America Adds Three New Executives To Its Business & Legal Affairs Team
June 14, 2016 - Endemol Shine North America has added three new executives to its Business & Legal Affairs team, it was announced today by John Farrell, General Counsel, Endemol Shine North America.
Michael Gifford has been named Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, while Ed Prince and Marjorie Williams have each been named Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs for Endemol Shine North America. All three report to Farrell and are located in the company’s Los Angeles offices.
Farrell and his team oversee all business and legal affairs efforts for Endemol Shine North America’s businesses including scripted, unscripted, digital, consumer products and Spanish-language programming. Endemol Shine North America is part of Endemol Shine Group, the newly launched global content creator, producer and distributor with a diverse portfolio of companies that are behind some of the most prominent hit television formats and series in the world.

Gifford, who joins Endemol Shine North America as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, will serve as a negotiator and legal advisor to the company, working primarily with the company’s scripted division, Endemol Shine Studios.
Previously Gifford was Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at Viacom, responsible for overseeing day-to-day business and legal affairs operations relating to all aspects of the development and production of scripted television presentations, pilots and series for cable networks including MTV, VH1, Spike and Epix.
Prior to working at Viacom, Gifford served as Associate Principal Counsel, Legal Affairs for ABC Studios, where he negotiated and drafted a wide variety of agreements relating to scripted television pilots and series for broadcast and cable networks. Before joining ABC Studios, Gifford worked at law firms Sullivan & Cromwell and Morrison & Foerster in New York City.
Prince, who was named Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, is responsible for providing advice, counsel and comprehensive business and legal services to Endemol Shine North America’s Digital, Brand & Audience Development group.
Prior to joining Endemol Shine North America, Prince worked for Mattel Inc., where he was the lead production counsel for all Mattel entertainment projects, live events and strategic entertainment partners. Previously Prince served as Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs for NBCUniversal Television’s consumer products division, where he worked across the company’s home video, music, gaming and other consumer product-related initiatives.
Prince also has held positions with The Writer’s Guild of America West and United Talent Agency. Additionally, Prince received an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps.
Williams, who was named Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, will oversee development matters for ESNA’s unscripted programming team and work with the company’s digital division Endemol Shine Beyond, as well as support Farrell on day-to-day corporate and litigation matters.
Prior to joining Endemol Shine North America, Williams served as Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs at Viacom, where she was one of a handful of attorneys primarily focused on digital/new media transactions. While at Viacom, Williams was instrumental in structuring and negotiating new deals for Comedy Central’s digital content that was distributed via SnapChat, Instagram, Vine, Periscope, YouTube, Sirius XM radio, and other SVOD/EST/DTR platforms.
Williams also serves her country as a Major in the United States Air Force Reserves, with 16+ years of combined active duty and reserve service.
