Endemol Shine North America Names DJ Nurre, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Original Series
March 7, 2018 - Endemol Shine North America has named veteran showrunner and development executive DJ Nurre, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Original Series, and has made several additional appointments as part of a new global programming strategy set by Sharon Levy, President, Unscripted and Scripted Television, Endemol Shine North America.
Levy, who joined Endemol Shine North America late last year, also named Dan Cazzola, Vice President, International Development, Unscripted and Lisa Fahrenholt, Vice President, International Development, Scripted.
Fahrenholt, who has served as Director, North American Acquisitions for Endemol Shine International, will continue to also oversee finished program acquisitions and co-financing opportunities for ESI.
In addition, Georgie Hurford-Jones, who serves as Senior Vice President, Unscripted Programming, continues to executive produce current programming and now heads up all of Endemol Shine North America’s “MasterChef” franchise initiatives, including “MasterChef Jr.,” which just returned to FOX for its sixth season. Robin Feinberg, who is also Senior Vice President, Unscripted Programming, will oversee the company’s “Fear Factor” franchise and additional series, as well.
“DJ is one of the most respected and accomplished producers in unscripted TV,” says Levy. “I’ve worked closely with him over the last decade on numerous series including ‘Bar Rescue’ and he’s always shown great instincts and leadership
skills. I’m thrilled he’s joining our team here at Endemol Shine.”
Levy added, “After getting to know my new Endemol Shine colleagues from around the globe and seeing all of the diverse, amazing content this company produces, it was clear that we needed experienced executives on our team here in North America identifying both unscripted and scripted opportunities. Dan and Lisa are just that, both have worked for our company internationally and have great programming instincts.”

Nurre, who most recently served as Executive Vice President, Programming and Development, 3 Ball Entertainment, will oversee all unscripted current programming, as well as, all pilots and presentations.
Cazzola and Fahrenholt both bring extensive international programming and production experience to their new roles and will work with Levy to identify domestic unscripted and scripted content opportunities from across Endemol Shine Group’s 120 global production companies. Most recently, Cazzola was Executive Producer, Global Development, for Endemol Shine Group and Fahrenholt was Director, North America Acquisitions for Endemol Shine International.
Nurre joins Endemol Shine from 3 Ball Entertainment, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, Programming and Development. There he headed up all development for the production company, focusing on the creation of IP for broadcast, cable, digital and OTT, and managing 3 Ball’s casting and development teams, while also managing their current programming efforts.
A seasoned showrunner, Nurre spent 13 years at 3 Ball, championing some of that studio’s highest-rated and longest-running series, including Spike’s hit “Bar Rescue,” “Catch a Contractor” (Spike), “Flying Wild Alaska” (Discovery) “LA Hair” (We) and CNBC’s “Adventure Capitalists.”
Nurre’s other credits include hits such as “The Biggest Loser,” “MasterChef,” “Beauty and The Geek” and “For Love or Money.”
He first joined 3 Ball as an editor in 2004 and previously served as Senior Vice President, Development and Current for the studio. Nurre is a graduate of the USC School of Cinema – Television and resides in Los Angeles.
Fahrenholt oversees ESNA’s scripted programming efforts and reports to Sharon Levy, President, Unscripted and Scripted Television, Endemol Shine North America. In this role, Fahrenholt identifies, facilitates and packages domestic programming opportunities with a key focus on adapting Endemol Shine Group-owned global formats for the US market.
Fahrenholt, who is based in Los Angeles, had served as Acquisitions Director, North America, for Endemol Shine International (ESI) since March 2015. Fahrenholt continues to oversee any finished program acquisitions and co-financing opportunities in North America for both scripted and unscripted programs for ESI, in addition to her new responsibilities with Endemol Shine North America.
Prior to the Endemol Shine merger, Fahrenholt was Acquisitions Manager for Endemol Worldwide Distribution and previously was on the Endemol Studios programming team in Los Angeles, working across such series as “Red Widow,” “Low Winter Sun” and “Kingdom.”
For the last two years, Cazzola has served as Executive Producer, Global Development, for Endemol Shine Group. Cazzola, who is now based in Los Angeles, has been traveling the globe working with the company’s international network of production studios managing ESG’s creative strategy and unscripted development portfolio. Previously, Cazzola was Global Development Executive for the Shine Group, based out of London.
Prior to joining Endemol Shine, Cazzola held numerous positions within production and development companies in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia, focusing on localizing top global formats such as “MasterChef,” “MasterChef Junior,” “Minute To Win It,” “Idol,” “Project Runway,” “How To Look Good Naked,” “Best Bakery” and “Trinny & Susannah.”
